The Tuscany Community Association, a non-profit association, was formally established in April 2000. Our initial vision was developed with a solid core of volunteers from across the area working with support from the City of Calgary . Our vision, mission, and values provide a good idea of what we are about and some of the benefits for our members. However, there is still plenty of room for shaping the activities of the community association. If you have particular interests or talents, give us a call to see where you can help out or grow our vision. Our Association is open to all residents in the area of Tuscany (Stoney Trail to Twelve Mile Coulee Road East-West and Crowchild Trail to Nose Hill Drive North-South). We have a broad mandate to represent the Community to external stakeholders - the City, for example, recognizes the Community Association in the development and appeals process. We also have the mandate to run community sports programs and we have an emphasis on preserving and maintaining the natural environment.

We accomplish our Mission Statement by:

  • Communicating with the community about issues that are of concern to the community,
  • Liaising with appropriate stakeholders and advocating on behalf of our membership about issues of concern to the community including health and safety, the natural environment, and residential and commercial development,
  • Coordinating services that benefit our members including sports and recreation activities, and
  • Operating in an open, participatory, democratic and fiscally responsible manner while respecting all members and stakeholders.

Values

  • A single cohesive community that is safe, healthy, and enjoyable
  • Servicing the needs of all members of the community - as individuals and as a whole
  • Recreation and sports opportunities for all members that promote an active lifestyle
  • The preservation and maintenance of the natural environment
  • Responsible residential and commercial development
  • An open, participatory, democratic and fiscally responsible Association that respects all members
